Find out if they are using inverter compressors or standard rotary compressors. Along with what outdoor temp they stop heating at.

The don't give a whole lot of info on there site about the outdoor unit. I wonder what kind of components it has? 600 for the indoor and outdoor seems pretty cheap bi also wouldn't consider that all that green. It's only 13 seer.

I am just guessing here, but I don't think that Bair is a real manufacturer. From their website, I think this is an HVAC company (contractor) or possibly a regional wholesaler who has private labeled. As a wholesaler, I have worked with a couple of large contractors in the past who I have helped them go directly to a manufacturer and have a private label created for them exclusively.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, as the equipment is probably manufactured by a reputable company, and as long as the contractor or company is backed by the manufacturer all is good. Where a problem can arise is in the future when the contractor is out of business, or a new owner takes possession of the Bair unit and needs repaired and the next contractor steps in and has no clue what this is. (though the rating plate will have the real manufacturer on it).

I once toured the Goodman Manufacturing plant in Houston TX and was blown away when I saw a huge warehouse with multiple brands. That was when i discovered that things are not always as they seem....(well, that and after I got my divorce

Good luck. A simple way to find out is to call Bair and ask them to tell you who the manufacturer is. Then let us know

I think the units being private label or something similar may be correct. The dealer is a large and long time in business local firm.

It is an inverter unit. Agreed the seer rating is low compared to many units now on the market. Depending on the years to use the ROI can be OK.

Thanks all for the good comments.

Hello Vince! I had a B Air ductless minisplit intalled at my home in San Diego. I had the same questions, did my research and learned that this brand is backed by a company that has been around for 60 years. I had never heard of this type of system before and I couldn't had made a better decision. End the price you see in their website if for both components and the installation material is included, they did all the work for me and in less then 3 hours they were done, very friendly and professional.. I would recommend this company to anybody, dont make the huge mistake of spending thousands on a conventional central system this is the best way to go.

B Air is part of the Becerril Group which is a third generation family owned international company with investments in a variety of green consumer goods.

We invested in the actual manufacturing of ductless mini splits, re-engineering existing platforms to reinforce many of the parts that were causing problems with other brands.

As to our "Green" model...we were using the eco-friendly refrigerant R-410a in our systems in Latin America and the US before it became mandated by the US Dept of Energy in 2007-2008 as part of our commitment to helping the environment.
So, I hope this clarifies any doubts...Cheers.
