american standard freedom 80 works or shuts off in 10min
have a mid 1995 freedom 80 that has just recently started being a little odd. sometimes it will run for an hour with no trouble, heat the house and function fine. other times it will run around 10 minutes, cycle through and shut down. searching has brought up a problem with the gas valve. same with cleaning the ignitor?
that of course brings up another thing. the furnace is the one single area of a home i know near zero about. what's yearly maintenance like and do we have any guesses or ways to test my current problem?
when it does shut off the error code is a solid red light that says "replace control"
if i then turn the thermostat down the light returns to the normal slow red blinking that signals everything is okay.
