american standard freedom 80 wont blow

I have an american standard freedom 80 furnace. not sure of age. The blower wont run. Everything else seems to work fine. The code light flashes constant and fairly slow. Any ideas on what to check? I did turn motor shaft by hand with unit turned on and it took off but when I put door back on it would not continue to run. Im guessing it stop when I put door on and would not restart.

Does it run when you put the fan to ON at the thermostat. If you have to spin start it then it sounds like the capacitor is shot.

Thanks for relpy. I have a programable thermostat. Will the fan run even if the thermostat is not set to heat or A/C? The cap is about 5 or 6 inches tall andoval? Right? How much are they? Thanks

Should run if set to ON.
Yes. Should have a rating like 370 vac 5mfd or 7.5 or 10 mfd. Under $30.
