american standard allegiance 10 AC motor question

http://cgi.ebay.com/1-4-H-P-AIR-COND...efaultDomain_0

looking at some of the general replacement motors like this one pictured. it's a 96 year allegiance 10. i'm about to go start measuring, just curious if anyone knew of a better place, good hookup or generally easy way to get a replacement motor. mine literally died on a 100deg day

update

started troubleshooting and have discovered the fan can start if i give it a spin to get going. i have a loud buzz and the compressor isn't kicking on. another thing i noticed is a bulging top capacitor. if the cap has failed will that cause the pump not to kick on and the fan not to as well? at first i thought the fan had failed, after looking into this i'm starting to wonder about the start up circuit

my unit uses a 45/5 capacitor very similar to this

http://www.hvacpartsoutlet.com/Carri...PDR455440.aspx

from what i can tell this is a run capacitor so if it failed neither the compressor nor fan would function correctly. am i right so far"?

Good chance its the capacitor, and not the motor.
