amanda furnance fan off balance?

this sound has been going on for the past 2 weeks and getting progressively worse. I'm no HVAC guy buy I can handle working around voltage to fix it myself. Sounds to me like a fan striking metal during its revolution.

The video starts after i powered off the furnace from the thermostat. Sorry for the groan at the end :P

Any ideas?

Remove the doors, sounds like your squirrel cage wheel in the main blower is broken and hitting the body and needs replacing. Try spin it by hand and move it side to side. One of the motor mount brackets may be broken also. You really need to remove the whole fan to find out.

Yes you have a noise but it can be draft motor , fan motor or something in side fan wheel. Take the covers off and hold down the service switch and hear it that way.

cover off, you can see which part is making the noise, not sure how to go about finding the parts for replacement in a timely fashion. I guess a HVAC supply place...

second video is the culprit, and attached pic is the model details.

That fan is called a inducer fan or ventor fan. May have a 5 yr warranty. Check with the installer or a Amana dealer. Labor not covered.

You could try pulling the vent off and see if there is something in there.

so i yanked everything apart. The impeller was warped to all hell causing vibration which was noisy. The assembly is similar to a turbo charger on a car. I bent the impeller back into place to get me though last night and tonight, and ordered part 0131m00002s for $133 which replaces part b4059001.

I'm going to call this "fixed", but will update if things change. Thanks for your help!
