AirQuest? Ruud? or Luxaire?

I will soon be purchasing a new furnace and AC.

I've had two estimates so far and am leaning toward the Luxaire. I really liked and trusted the "tech".

Not so much the AirQuest guy as he said he wouldn't put in new duct work (which I obviously need) and didn't even look around my house other than the 10 minutes he stood in my basement then at the table with me after I asked him to put is estimate in writing. He was here for 24 minutes total.

Hopefully today I'll be getting the 3rd estimate from a Ruud tech but am having a hard time making this decision on my own since I have no idea which brand name has a better track record.

Is there anyone who can give their opinions and/or experiences with the above listed products?

Again, I'm leaning toward the Luxaire F195060-12 and AMO24-MA321. The AirQuest tech didn't even give me model #s.

Thanks for any help and guidance you can offer!

The brand and model is less important than the company and person installing it. You can get a comparable unit in any brand. Pick a company you feel will do good work that you trust and feel good about.

Yeah, it's kinda a ford vs chevy vs dodge thing. Every manufacturer has had bum models over the years. Some technicians become more famaliar with a certain brand, thus it becomes more dear to them. Trane is my favorite brand, mostly because I was fetched up on them, but I remain convinced that every manufacturer makes equipment that will fit any need. It's all in the installation, in my opinion. Plus, you want the person that did the install to remain in business when your system needs the inevidable emergency service or routine maintenance.

So what type of vehicles do you guys drive?

I've now had 3 men into my home. One is out of the "running" already but I'm very torn between the other two because I like them both so well.

Coolmen and MDshunk, if you happen to check this again I'd be interested in knowing what you drive. Really. I don't need the model just the make would be nice.

I'm trying to find something a tie breaker (other than the $1,000 difference).

Thank you!

Hi cloverxxo

I know it may be to late, but if you can afford the best piece of equipment that comes with the backing. Carrier all the way, they have been doing this for 104 years. Believe me, they are the best. But like mdshunk said, the dealer needs to be reputable aslo. I am a thoroughbread Mopar Man.
