Air vent leaking next to a skylight
We just bought a 10 year old house with a 1 year old AC system. There is a vent coming down the vertical column in the ceiling leading to the skylight in the dining room. I imagine this vent and duct get hot in the Houston sun - condensation. The vent drips water and the paint around it are stripped. Any solutions?

In addition, today I noticed some mold on the ceiling by an air vent in a bedroom extending into the vent.

can you get to it to check the insulation around the boot or the lack of insulation around it

Not sure I understand what boot you're talking about. Can you elaborate?

Thanks for helping!

It is what the supply pipe connects to. check the insulation on the pipe while u are there

It appears it is forming on the inside of the register where there is really thin insulation. Can you buy just the insulation that goes inside the registrar (i.e. in the house)? If so, where? I looked at Lowe's and couldn't find it.
