Air Handler Support

Can an air handler be saftely suspended from the crawlspace side floor joists?

Mine is off the ground by about two inches on small bricks. I want to provide a better thermal break from ground temperatures during the Winter.

Any suggestions?

Not much thermal conductivity thru small bricks. The air handler is insulated internally. Better off to insulate the crawlspace with building code approved insulation and methods. Check your local codes.

Yes, but I suspect I have an air handler cabinet designed for interior (conditioned space) installation and not exterior (un-conditioned space) installation. There is insulation in the cabinet but not to level it should be.

So back to my question. Can the air handler be supported from the floor joists vs sitting on the ground?

You may be able to add some of that foiled backed insulation to it to improve it. HDepot may have it.
