Air handler question

Im about to purchase a new 4 ton Goodman a/c hp split system. Im looking at the picture of the air handler, its huge..like a refrigerator. my old 22 y/o handler sits on a wooden plywood box and its about half the size. Will the installers just knock the box out to let the new one stand in there, and why the difference in size?

Air handler question

basic themodynamic's increase the surfuce area of the coil and you increase the heat absorbtion with less work from the fan. what i do usualy is remove that put plywood down and set the air handler on heat pump risers (to give pitch for the drain but if they dont have to they wont
