Air Handler HELP!

I live in a 1920s bungalow that has 1900 SF. The house had a Goodman 3 ton unit. Less than a year ago I replaced the old unit with a Goodman 4 ton unit. I also had all of the old "square" ducts replaced with new ones. However, the original air handler hasn't been replaced. I believe it is a 3 ton just like the old unit. My electric bills are a little over $400.00 per month and I notcied some green slime on the intake while I was replacing my filter. Any ideas? I was told that the 4 ton unit is too large for my SF. I was alos told if I match my outside unit with a new Goodman 4 ton air handler that my house will feel mosit and clamy. I am looking for any suggestions other than tear everything out and start over.

the good new is the green film is pobubly a lovely mixture of condensation mold and sediment ( like whats on top of a swamp) the drain should be cleaned and cleared. the bad new's is tonnage needs to be matched for eff. system life , propper operation, and warrantee. to start over might seem stupid but there is no easy fix to correct the mis match . Question why was the ductwork replaced and not the airhandler they basicly had the thing out and put it back. maybe start planing for that addition to justify keeping the 4 ton

I appreciate the feedback. What is the downside to having a 4 ton outside unit and a 4 ton air handler with a 1900 SF house?

an over sized system will be less eff. , less dehumidification, and more ware and tear with the start and stoping, that being said its a better option then a mis match
