Question

Air Handler Blower repair

I have been living without much heat in the past 48 hours, and I would really appreciate any advice.

My story:

My air handler motor is dying, only working 30 minutes at a time before slowing down and coming to a complete stop, accompanied with humming noise & some burning smell.

So, I got the replacement motor today and will go ahead and replace the old one.

One thing I want to make sure - do I need to balance the actual wheel?

I belive the clips are all in place still.

Any other related advice would really be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

No you don't have to worry about balancing the wheel. It is a good time to scrape off any build up off the wheel being careful not to disturb those weights.

Make sure you also replace the capacitor with the proper one for the new motor.
