Air Handler to Base gasket/seal??

My Rheem air handler installation manual suggests a gasket for sealing air handler base to sheet metal combustable base. (AH will be installed in downdraft configuration).

What's the best way to make this "gasket". (ie clear silicone seal, furnace mastic, foam weatherstripping tape)

Air Handler to Base gasket/seal??

Hi hennyh

We use a silicone called RD PRO, this is a high temp silicone with excellent adhering properties. It made by Red Devil and you should be able to get it at about any HVAC supply house.

Good luck
Rusty
