Question

Air conditioning short

Our Carrier central air/furnace will not cool. I put the a/c to cool and after running for a couple of minutes it turns the furnace on while still set to cool. I've replaced the thermostat and still the problem persists. I don't know if it's a short on the system itself or some other electrical problem. The LED light blinks a 12 code meaning normal operation.

Air conditioning short

I removed the W wire from the control panel on the unit. This stopped the inducer from turning on and the furnace from lighting. After doing this the a/c worked fine. But I have to assume that as soon as I reattach the wire to the control board the inducer will kick back on. Suggestions?

Air conditioning short

Sounds like a short in the low voltage wire between the furnace and thermostat.
