Air conditioner installation, wall-mounted or ground-sat?

I'm thinking purchasing an air conditioner. Now I have a question about the installation for the condenser. Someone was promoting that ground-sat, while others says wall-mounted is better. So please someone tell me which one is better or any advantages or restrictions for each.

Thanks!

Usually the circumstances dictate what to use ground pad or up on a stand. Etherer way is fine.

I've had units make noise through the foundation when put on brackets. Not always and not very often, but it has happened.

Thank you very much to all the replies!

Coldiron, could you please give me some brief outline, in what circumstances that ground pad is better and in what is good to go with brackets? Thanks.
