Advice - relocating HVAC ducting (residential house)
I am starting to develop my basement on a 4 year old house with 2 stage mid efficiency furnace (2 story). The original ducting in the basement had a couple of hiccups taking extra room.
I want to re-route the fresh air (cold air) intake for the Cold air Return side of the furnace. I have one for both the hot side (feeding into the bucket at the bottom of the hot side of the furnace,) and the one I want to reroute - which feeds directly into the cold air return duct.
Question: Currently the insulated flex tube/pipe feeds behind the cold air return of the furnace - the duct extends past the furnace an extra 3 feet, this is the only thing fed back there. Can I route it so that it feeds in ahead - just like all the other cold air returns in the house? I can't see how it would make much of a difference on the air flow one way or the other.
Thoughts - advice?
Thanks in advance.
A pic would help.
