Adding Zone to Baseboard Hot Water System

I'm in the process of finishing an 11' x 40' room in my basement. I would like to add a zone to my baseboard hot water heating system to heat this room using O2 barrier PEX to supply the heaters. The system currently has only one zone. I've done a bit of research on the components of the system, but I guess my simple question is: Other than the heaters, supply lines, two zone valves and a thermostat for the basement, do I need anything else? I will have help connecting the zone to the boiler, but I was hoping to run the PEX and connect the heaters myself.

Thanks for any help.

Use an IFC circulator, and you won't need a zone valve.

You will nee a circ relay.

Adding Zone to Baseboard Hot Water System

So you're suggesting I add one circulator instead of using the existing single circ and adding two zone valves, correct?

Correct. providing your current single zone set up uses a flow check.

If it doesn't might just want to replace your current circ with a IFC circulator. keeps it simple.
