Adding a stand alone wood furnace to existing duct work

I currently have a natural gas hot air furnace, and I would like to install a stand alone wood furnace as well. Due to chimney locations, the units will be about 30ft apart (but both located in the basement), my question is can I connect the plenum output from the wood furnace to my existing duct work? Are there any problems with the wood furnace blowing hot air back into the plenum of the gas furnace?

That could happen. You may be best advised to contact your insurance agent, local building code inspector and gas utility for the rules to follow. Where I am the increased cost of house insurance with a wood stove makes them almost worthless. Jacks up the cost of your house insurance.
