Checked forums for ATTIC ac "reducting" and found only BASEMENT UNITS. I was wandering if taking ducts from attic to basement would create a different situation.
This is proposed floor plan of basement.

The AC-ONLY air handler is in the attic with vents on ceilings of the main floor with basement under main floor of course. The house is heated with a boiler fyi.
I want to run ducts through a closet to proposed "family room" of diagram...fyi plans were reversed and now this will be a bedroom. I plan only one room for now, don't know if I will ever get to the other rooms, BUT wandering what the AC requirements will be for future other spaces especially the bath.
A couple questions: Use insulated flex duct or steel duct(with insulation added?)?
Is a return necessary and where to place vents?
Bring down "trunk" for future whole basement OR "branch" of one of existing "lines"?
I started to hang drywall on ceiling in basement and stopped because I must decide on the AC duct routing prior to drywall...this is why I'm being abrupt... thanks in advance for your help or direction...
