Ac supply and return 2nd floor


I have a room in my upstairs attic which was converted to 2 bedrooms, I notice in one of the rooms the air supply grill on the wall is next to the air return grill , about 7 '' from each other , is that normal

No not really.

Depending on type of supply register. It could short cycle the air back to the return.
