Tripped breaker.
Tripped high pressure switch.
Bad dual run capacitor.

Yikes, never heard of that but I guess it could happen. Pretty bad timing with the heat wave! Rick, how old is your system? If it has some miles on it and if the breaker isn't tripped there's a good chance it is just the dual run capacitor that starts the compressor and outside fan. Have a look and see if it is bulging.

Never feel dumb about asking questions, it is the way we learn things.

Glad it was just a fuse. Hopefully it will not go out again, if it does we can help you figure it out.

Thanks everybody...i have had my AC for 17 yrs with no issues, not even a blown fuse, when it went, i guess i was thinking because of its age, it cant be as simple as a fuse, usually anything that breaks around here is not that easy to fix..lol

Rick, glad you got it working. Are you talking about the fuse on the air handler/furnace control board? Just curious...

Oh, I haven't seen an electric panel with fuses in a very long time.
