AC Help

I live in So. Fla. and woke up this am to a warm house. I heard the ac (split system American Standard) making a funny noise (like something running throught the air handler system) and the thermostat read 74, eventhough it was set on 70. I removed the filter and saw that the coil was frosted over only at the top and the coil can use an acid wash. I attempted to run the fan to defrost the coil, however, the fan does not kick on. The outside unit is operating. Any suggestions?

AC Help

Check the indoor fan motor and cap. No airflow, icing the coil is the least of your problems slugging the compressor and killing it would be the worst.
