AC Fan Motor Swap

My outside AC fan motor is not working and I have tried changing out the capacitor. It will spin, however I believe the fan motor needs to be changed. It does not freely spin when i move the fan blade.

I have an old fan motor that works. Does anyone know if this will work? The top are the specs from the GOOD FAN I want to put in. The bottom are the specs from the OLD fan I am replacing. The HP is different (not sure if this matters) and the capacitor MFD. Also the AMP.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

AC Fan Motor Swap

Too big.

Your old one is a 1/6 hp and the new one is 1/3. That is way too strong and will burn out.

AC Fan Motor Swap

Your frame size is 48Y on both motors. But the hp, the rotation, amp draw, voltage, and RPM have to match

AC Fan Motor Swap

If it's an old unit. It would be wise to replace the fan as well
