AC contamination question

I have a new funace and coil. I wish to connect to it an older AC outside compresser unit that I scrapped from a house being demolitioned. The unit was removed and the lines to it crushed down, but not compleatly sealed off. IT has been sitting outside for a year and I am wondering what I have to do to be sure I do not have acid or other contamination inside that might damage my new furnace coil, etc.

How much of a problem is having the compresser lines...open to air? NO dirt is inside, etc. Of course I would have the system evacuated before putting it in service. Anything more I need to do? What are my risks in using this unit? Thank you very much!

Its good no dirt is inside but moisture is the real problem. Sitting outside that long open to the weather it will surley have moisture.

Make sure you install driers. You may need to change them a few times as they clean up the system. Pull a vacuum to 500 microns and see if it works. It may last awhile or go out the next day. Hard to tell.
