AC condensing water reuse idea
I am a new homeowner and I have an idea. Well, 1st we had a problem with our AC's ability to drain water in the attic. It clogged and the retaining tub rusted through. It is fixed, but I was wondering if I could take that stream of condensed water and run into into my drain pipe from the water heater (which is kinda close) and send it to a collection tank outside. Which I could use to water the lawn and garden. Has anyone tried or heard of doing this. I am just trying to save the world.
Let me know. |

AC condensing water reuse idea
In the house I grew up in, we had a similar arrangement. The rain water that fell on our roof and drained into our evestroughs was collected in a 400 gallon galvanized tank. My mother used the water in that tank to water her garden.
I really don't see why people living in the city don't collect that water and use it to refill their toilet tanks to save on their water bills. (for example) |
