AC Compressor tries to start

Amedeo Newbie   Join Date: Jul 2010 Posts: 1	AC Compressor tries to start Right before my unit stopped cooling I had the temp on a normal setting I always have it on. All of a sudden it got really freezing, ice cold, in the house. I turned the system completely off, when I needed it to cool again and tried to turn it on- the outside unit, blower, fan, everything worked except the compressor. Every few minutes it goes to kick on and kicks off right away. Any ideas what I should do or what it may be? Thank you, Amedeo http:/healeth.org

Marty S. Member   Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: Nebraska Posts: 2,298	AC Compressor tries to start Capacitor failure . Doesn't explain the drop in temp but compressor trying to start and cant is almost always a bad capacitor.
