AC Capacitor Drain

I have a Lennox H529-311-3P which needs a new Capacitor and Contactor. I have no problem doing this, but I know that capacitors can hold a lot of juice. What is the best way to drain it so it won't shock anyone after it is removed (or me during removal)?

AC Capacitor Drain

If your going to replace it.

After shutting off power. Short a screw driver across the terminals.

AC Capacitor Drain

Thank you! I didn't even think of that. I was thinking about creating a 14-2 wire attached to a light bulb and connecting that until it died, but was unsure of the output and was thinking I might blow the bulb, then was thinking of other things that I might be able to connect. Just didn't think of a screwdriver short! THANKS!!
