AC Brands

Hello All

We just found out that our Goodman AC is junk. 0 freon (needs at least 5 to 6 pounds at $85/lb), 9 years old, 10 seer and condenser needs to be replaced. Fix it or replace it. The tech said dont fix it, replace it.

What brands should I consider?

He told me Goodman, as the parts are the same regardless of the the "sticker"

please help,

PTMD

1) The sad truth is that 9 or 10 years has become par.
2) The change out vs fix Q is more about the (R22) gas vs the equipment.
3) Brand... are you a Ford or Chevy guy? (iow focus on the other aspects)

Did he pinpoint the leak in the condenser. Or is he just guessing its in the condenser?
