AC blowing hot air

So i get home frm wk today,open the front door and it feels like a heat wave hit me,,,my unit is blowing out warm air,,,the fan outside runnng and the unt on the insde is running. but no cool air.filters clean.the condensor line on the inside unit arent cool at all.... WHAT IS WRONG?????

Maybe the compressor isn't running.

As beenthere said, most likely the compressor isn't running. In most cases that's not something the typical homeowner can fix. It may be nothing more than a burnt wire or bad capacitor (which some homeowners could perhaps fix), but it's rare that those are the ONLY failures.

Call someone to diagnose and repair the system. If you don't have any experience with a local HVAC company, then call family and friends for recommendations.

It could be low or out of freon. The better units have low and hi side pressure switches that will open the circuit to the compressor to shut off the compressor if the freon level is too low, usually caused by a leak. The freon acts to cool the compressor without the switches in place you could damage the compressor. There might be other safety's in place too or maybe the overload kicked out on the compressor and did not reset. Just my 2 cents...

shut your unit off let set for 1/2 hr restart and listen to hear the compressor start... if you cannot determine if its running or not... may need a tech to check it out....
