8x8x8 45 degree Wye?

The local HVAC suppliers didn't have this. One told me they aren't used in HVAC so he has no use for them. I stopped in a hardware store and he had them.

So, why do they exist if they aren't used? (and why did the hardware store have it?)

A run on my dust collection system would have been really awkward without it, so I am glad I found it.

An 8'' can't feed to 8", so its not something that would be used.
