80% AFUE regulations in Canada

Does anyone know how the regulation deadline works for installing the 80% AFUE in Canada?

I've heard that they can't be installed after Jan 1/2010. Then I've heard that as long as the manufacture date is before then that you can install it. Then I've heard that as long as the permit is dated before Jan 1 I'll be okay. Then I've heard that the install has to be completed by Jan 1....

Does anyone know what the actual regulation is?

Thanks.

The Canadian regulation is 90% in Manitoba it is 92%. There are local codes/jurisdictions as well. Phone your Gov Alberta info line in the blue pages and check with the environment dept and the mechanical and engineering depts. The local rules supersede the feds.

I knew you would have the answer.

Wish they would do that here.
