3/4 indoor motor kit (ICP rooftop A/C)
I just bought a home, which has an old ICP rooftop a/c unit. It wasn't blowing hard or cold enough so I called "An A/C company" in Las Vegas, NV. They came out and diagnosed a bad motor, replaced a 3/4 indoor motor kit, charged 750 tested it and left. This was about a month ago when it still wasn't too hot. Well now it's scorching, and my wife and I have had enough so we decided to turn on the a/c for the summer. Guess what? It is still not blowing hard or cold enough. Now "The same A/C company" is scheduled to make another appearance tomorrow afternoon and I am hoping for my wallet not to get drained again. The thermostat seems to trigger the unit on and off just fine, I do hear it whirring and it does sound like the compressor is churning, but not cold enough and certainly not hard enough. Any suggestions? Any important questions I need to ask? Help!!!

They should check for a dirty coil, and the charge, to make sure its not freezing up the coil. Did you check your air filter.

If you set your thermostat say at 78deg will the house ever reach that point before it shuts off? When you start a Central unit in hot weather you must give it lots of run time to take all the heat out of the house and contents and leave the thermostat alone for at least a day. Do not shut it off manually.
It will run alot.

not being in the house last summer the entire unit needs the cycles checked.speed of the new fan has to be HI,coils evaporator/condenser,filters,return air is true from the registers tight off the main trunk, return air is not drawing in outside air... and definitly the freon charge with temp readings and pressures
