1994 york a/c fan seizing???

my 94 york combo units fan keeps seizing up & the whole left side gets real hot. ive kept it @80 just to keep it somewhat running. we have a insurance plan that came w/the purchase of the house. now the man finally shows up to fix it, puts on a capacitor and fan motor. now the fan runs for 3-5 min and cuts off. the man cant give me a straight answer on what the problem is. the fan motor is different than the original and has wires showing, and looks rigged to me. any thoughts on this guys/gals??? thanks

exposed wires are never good. that is probably what is kicking it off moisture hitting those bare wires causing them to shut down the motor...make him fix the problem or hire another fix-it man! this could cause the whole unit to burn up and need to be replaced!

the wires were under a metal srip, now the ground wire is coming from under the strip over the grill/fan cover. like i said we called the insurance company and they sent him, we had to pay a 75 dollar deductible so we didnt hire him. moisture isnt the problem since he put it in yesterday and now it wont work for 5 minutes before the fan seizes up.

Just run it till it locks up the compressor.

Then you can get them out there to replace the compressor and the fan again!

Only thing those insurance policies are good for.

You need a real quality Pro and not those el cheapo hackers that insurance companies tend to use. They go with the cheapest bidder for service. Never hear anything good about home warranty companies.
