Wood Mulch Choce Cedar vs. Bark Mulch
I am looking to replace the mulch in my garden flower beds and am looking for your opinion on which type of mulch would be better?
I know that Cedar Mulch has natural oils that keep insects away. More expensive.
Bark mulch adds nutrients because it captures water and decomposes slowly.
Which do you think would be better?
I only use Cypruss. Does not become a weed bed like hard wood much, does not mold up, or mat down.
In the spring you can get it on sale for about a $1.50 a bag.
How about using recycled rubber for mulch? Comes shredded and in colors. Some is indistinguishable from cedar from a distance. Will not attract insects or mold spores.
