Window Wells

Hello All,

I am installing two new window wells. The windows are both above ground. I have all the accesories, but was hoping for a bit of help. While, at the home depot I picked up a damp proof foundation paint that I would like to apply before backfilling the hole. Is there anything to be aware of when applying the paint? Does anything need to be put on the wall prior to the paint. The container just says to make sure the area is clean and dry. How far should I dig down to begin applying the paint.

Please bare with me because I have never installed window wells before until now. I am trying to eliminate as much water from getting in as possible.

Thanks,

Pete
