I have this rusty pipe sticking out of the grass. I decide to dig it up. It still won't budge.

Is this thing a well? Or a laundry pole?

Should I keep digging?

Pipe looks too thick to be a laundry pole.

If it is a laundry pipe is probably through the concrete into the ground.
With that being said,I think you should still be able to rock it back and forth with all that dirt removed.

Is that cement around the pipe? if so, could be an old clothesline, lots of them were done like that back in the day.

Definitely a laundry post, IMO. If it were a fence post, there'd be lost more of them. I had one just like it. As it looks from the pic, one good whack with a sledge, on the side, should break the base.

Old Post. A well marker is either a flat plate with permanent markings on it and will be 2-6' below ground, or a post sticking 4' above ground with markings on it too.
