What is this thing? A well? Or nothing?
I have this rusty pipe sticking out of the grass. I decide to dig it up. It still won't budge.
Is this thing a well? Or a laundry pole? Should I keep digging? https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-O...660EAAF04C.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-t...B04276B8E9.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-L...AAF6C13256.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-B...CC6BDCD525.JPG |
Old septic tank?
Pipe looks too thick to be a laundry pole. Quote:
With that being said,I think you should still be able to rock it back and forth with all that dirt removed. |
Is that cement around the pipe? if so, could be an old clothesline, lots of them were done like that back in the day.

Definitely a laundry post, IMO. If it were a fence post, there'd be lost more of them. I had one just like it. As it looks from the pic, one good whack with a sledge, on the side, should break the base.

Old Post. A well marker is either a flat plate with permanent markings on it and will be 2-6' below ground, or a post sticking 4' above ground with markings on it too.

Looks like my fence posts.
Sledge all the way! |
