what to do about this bush?

this is a ""honeysuckle" that's got to stay. it was planted maybe 30 yrs ago on a "raised" piece of ground but now we've removed the rotten "railroad ties" that served as a retaining wall and this has left the bush with over a foot that used to be underground and is now above ground. anybody got any ideas what we can put around the bottom of the bush to both hide the uglyness and to protect the now exposed roots?

tnx,

You could build a planter box around it. Any chance you could dig a large hole and bury it deeper?

yeah,a planter box would work. of course, it would rot out eventually, but since my "assistant" and I are "seniors", we'd have departed this "veil of tears" by the time it does that.

ok, I took "pianolady's" advice and built a planter. unfortunately, the redwood 2x4's I got at HD for the top trim was wet and shrunk so my nice,tight.45 deg. cuts are 1/2 in. apart!
