What can I do about moss?

The front yard of my parents house has always had some problem areas. I moved out a long time ago, but she wants to sell in the fall so I have some time to try and get it to look better then it does. It's mostly shaded, and in the shady areas there is nothing but moss. I can't cut down and of the bushes blocking the sun. Is there anything I can do?

If you cannot make more "since" of it. Stick the moss on the right side of the tree and sell the idea of millenium old "where you are" technology?

Better watch out. Being disrespectful to certain posters will get you banned.

Sorry, I forgot where I was!

Sometimes the solution to lawn moss is a Ph test and an assesment of the moisture levels. Even the shade varieties of turfgrasses will not grow in constantly moist, shaded soil.

However, and hint, hint, hint. Some truly magical groundcovers will thrive in such environments. If it were me even as a former turfgrass manager and landscape desinger? I would be looking at replacing some of your lawn with nice, colorful, textured ground covers. Unless a pro sports team uses the turf for off-season practice.

You don't have to mow groundcovers either.
