Well water to sprinkler system questions

This is more of a question of what type of pump do I use to make all this work. Here is the plan:
1. Dig shallow well to approximately 15'-20' (water table)
2. Install shallow well pump to pull water up to plumb into sprinkler system
-I planned on trying this setup first to see if the pump could keep up with the sprinkler system, and then add a pressurized tank if needed.

Then I started looking at sprinkler pumps and the GPM they push, but noticed that they are for pulling surface water into the sprinkler system. I am guessing they wouldn't work to pull water up from a well.

The zone that uses the most volume has 3 3/4" impacts and it sucks about 10gpm at 40-45psi (city supplied water system). All lines from the point at the source throughout the entire sprinkler system is 3/4" lines.

Anyone have any input on what pump would be the best fit for this application?

Have you looked at plumbing in a submersible pump, like from a house? The pressure could be an issue from out of a well. You may want to look into a cheap filter too otherwise you may end up with a lot of clogged nozzles.

Im currently running a goulds 3/4HP Model J7S on a 24' well. No inline filters and no clogging for 2yrs. Runs at 45-55 psi, depending on the zone its currently running. My largest zone is 8 pop ups that drain the volume. When looking at pumps be sure to account for volume pushed not just psi. My largest impact zone is 5 3/4" impacts and no problem pushing them at all. I could actually open up the valve more for them but once again the pop ups destroy the volume and dictate main valve position.

Adding a tank will lessen the times the pump turns on and off greatly.
Adding a filter will stop the heads from getting plugged up with trash.

Dude i have no idea about it because i haven`t done this kind of thing but i think if you are in some problem and still confuse after so many suggestions then you should call in the plumbers or the people how do this work as a profession.

1. You can use the same kind of pump and pressure tank and system as for domestic water supply. If you have a separate system for the sprinkler system only, you can run it at higher pressures (subject to pump, control valve, and sprinkler capability) so the sprinkers will reach farther.

2. You can get a pump that is intended to work without a pressure tank.

With either of the above you can have a multi-hundred gallon cistern between the well and the pump that pressurizes the sprinklers. A second pump in the well, with no pressure tank, fills the cistern. The purpose of the cistern is to allow you to pump and store water from a slow well over a longer period of time while the sprinklers come on for a shorter period of time, drawing water faster than the well can supply it. Unlike a pressure tank, a cistern (by definition) is open to the outside so makeup air can enter as water is drawn out and its pump is controlled by a float similar to that in a toilet tank.

In some areas, a cistern does not meet sanitary codes so a third pump with pressure tank is needed to draw directly from the well to supply domestic water.
