Weed problem, bug problem, or both?

Hi all,

My grass near my fence is not doing very well. There were some weeds there but I plucked them all out. After plucking them, I showed my neighbor and nearby garden center some photos of my lawn problem and they said I have Chinch bugs. But the company that is taking care of my lawn said a couple weeks ago that I don't have Chinch bugs.

Is it possible I have Chinch bugs now? I don't know what to believe so can anyone give any insight as to what my lawn problem may be and what I can do to fix it?

I would not diagnose Chinch bugs based on the photo in the post. It could be, and that is a good guess or may not be. Is this the same photo that you showed them? Doesn't really matter. If your lawn care company did a hands-on inspection I would trust that more, presuming they know what they are looking for. Did they offer any other explanation, or more importantly how to rectify this?

PS
Please tell us where you are and what the grass is.
