trimmer not working starter string wont pull.


i was trimming my weeds and the trimmer just stopped running and now the starter pull string wont pull. what do i do or whats the problem?

Of course that would be after he's checked all the obvious things like empty fuel and oil, dirty spark plug, clogged fuel line....just sayin

trimmer not working starter string wont pull.


Pull the spark plug and try to get it to turn over.
If the motors locked the most common reason would be it was run without oil mixed with the fuel. If that's what happened it's trash.

Ayuh,... I really doubt any of those things cause a seized motor...

Agreed. There's no need to mess around with maintenance tasks until the engine is free. First thing, think back to make sure that you used the right gas can, i.e. two cylce versus straight gasoline; if you ran a tank of straight fuel through it, yup, it's probably cooked. If you're sure that you had two cycle fuel in it, remove the pull starter, to see if the problem is in the starter or the engine; the odds probably aren't real high, but possible that the engine stall and the starter bound up are simply unrelated coincidences.
