Tree Identification

My wife is concerned about the little tree that the builder put in front of our house. She thinks the roots are going to cause problems with the house, but neither of us even know what kind of tree it is. Is anyone able to tell from this picture? Based on the type of tree I'd then have to determine whether or not is could be a hazard to the house.

Tree Identification

Really cannot tell from that far away picture. Those kind of Ornamental trees do not send long feeder roots. They usually stay within the height that it currently is. If you want more information on it. Take a leaf & a better picture of it, to a local Greenhouse/landscaping company.

To me, it looks like a Japanese Maple.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

Thanks. I figured it'd be tough to tell from that picture, but the topic was on my mind and that was the best picture I have on my phone.
