TORO Mower
I have a TORO, FWD, walk behind mower, new in 2008 and last month had the transmission replaced (under warranty). Today as I went to mow I noticed that the mower would not roll across the lawn (engine off) as the front wheels were frozen. I started the mower and she ran fine, FWD worked as designed and the front wheels, if I tried to push the mower, seemed to roll with FWD not engaged and engine on. Once I shut the engine off the front wheels again sere frozen. Is the transmission going South again?

With my little knowledge (but own a toro) i would say yes and no. your tranny seems to run okay however your neutral seems to be bad or stuck out of position. Sorry i can't be more help.

Toro FWD
Thanks for the reply, it appears as if the control cable for the FWD was misset, I loosen4d the cable, and pulled it forward toward the engine to remove all slack, and the wheels now seem to function correctly. I guess the cable was too tight and perhaps trying to engage the transmission with engine off.
