Tall Fescue or Zoysia

Hello,

I live in NJ and I want to install Tall Fescue sod or Zoysia.

I can get Tall fescue for about $.25/sq ft or Zoysia for $2/sq ft!

I have 2 dogs that will be using the yard.

Since the fescue is 1/8 the price of Zoysia, will it be ok?

As long as I keep it watered when it first goes down it should be ok right?

With the Zoysia, can you cut it up and plant like plugs? $2 is outrageous!

Fescue is good. I think Zoysia (like kentucky 31) is coarse and not comfortable when walking barefoot.

That is the most common way for planting Zoysia. At least over here, where it goes for 6-8 bucks a sq ft.
