take this palm please

I am STUMPED. I have a large palm in my front flower bed....I wish it had never been planted. Of course, now it is hideous looking and I have NO CLUE how to get it treated....I never considered "saving" it because it does look so poor. I was hoping to just knock it down. I talked to another tree service from BR and they wanted at least $1000 to remove it.....HELP...

Just how big is that palm?

Two ways to get rid of it...pay someone or get out a shovel and start digging.

$1000 sounds a bit high.....I had a 35' conifer tree removed....cost me $600.

Even if you are on the right track, you will still get run over if you just sit there.

Do you know anyone that has a winch with "gin" poles. mounted on their truck.

As a kid years ago I worked summers for a stump removal guy. That is what we used a 5 ton winch truck , "gin" poles, Wrapped the chain low around the stump, hooked the winch in a vertical position, up came the stumps like a giant had pulled weeds.
