String Trimmer won't run

I'm posting this for my neighbor so I'm not sure what all he has done.

His Weed Eater string trimmer quit running as he was using it. He can get it to run if he takes the spark plug out and put in some gas, but it quits running when that little bit of gas is gone. He replaced the fuel line and I think he said he changed the fuel filter.

Any suggestions?

I would bet the gasket between the carburator and the cylinder is shot. When there is a crack in the gastket, the engine can't pull fuel into the combustion chamber.

When its all said and done there is usually more said than done
