Stone wall re-alignment

I know is is probably the dumbest question you have received here but I figured "the pros" on here would know how to handle this in the correct manner. I have a few stone walls as you can see in the pictures that need to be fixed. Over the years due to extreme freezing/thawing cycles this is what I have. I need to bring the stones closer together and be level again. Any suggestions on the proper landscaping technique(s) and sequence would be greatly appreciated. Also is there any way to prevent this from happening in the future? Thank you for all your time!
