sod and pets

Good evening, all. I have a question about sod. I just bought some from Lowe's and just wonder if sod is usually treated with pesticides, or if it's safe for animals that might eat it.
Thanks!

sod and pets

Hope it's safe because my dogs think new sod is the ONLY place in the yard for taking a nap.
