Shallow well pump issues,
Hello all, new to the forum,
I am having issues with my new irrigation pump that I installed. it is a Flotec 1-1/2 Sprinkler Pump Composite Quick Priming High-Capacity 115/230V that I bought from the Depot to run my sprinkler system.
the well heads (there are three) are 10,15 and 20 feet deep, and all connect to one line and then into the pump. I have check valves near all three well heads, and another next to the pump (installed vertically).
the water stays up to the check valves and does not drain back down, but when I turn the pump on, it does not pump water.
So I ran city water to the top of the pump so that I can prime it, and after about 5 minutes of running city water through it, the pump decides to pump the well water and I can turn off the city water. i have checked for leaks by spraying soapy water on the connections,
once the well water starts to pump, it will run forever (well I have not had it run out of water yet).
I am in florida and the water table is pretty shallow,
I am at a loss on what to do, I hate running so much city water through the system, but when I am running it, bubbles come out of one of the heads.
any suggestions? I do not have a pressure tank on the well,
Why do you have three suction heads? If the water is below the first one, it is going to suck air.
