Shadecloth

There is a canvas supplier here in Chicago that has all kinds, grades, weights and colors of canvas, muslin, etc. Their prices seem reasonable and customer service is great.

Where are you located by the way. You might want to update your profile. If you are near water and boats...

You might look for sailmakers to see if you can pick up some remnant sailcloth as it will last a long time. Or think about recycling racing sails past their prime for racing but with miles to go as shadecloth. Military surplus places used to have parachute cloth that was fairly sturdy.

Any awning company may be able to help you even with just fabric if you do not want fabrication.
