rolling a lawn

I have a yard that has small gullies that washed in it right after it was seeded. What is the best way to fix them? Lawn roller?

Re: rolling a lawn

Rolling will not level a lawn. You seem to mention that it was recently seeded. If the soil is still uncompacted (i.e. it was recently spread and not rolled), a pass with a light roller might reduce the undulations by compacting the now high spots, but it can't replace soil that has washed away. Your only recourse is to top dress and re-seed the eroded areas, since the seed has likely washed away as well. You could possibly rake out the area but that would probably disturb the seeds trying to germinate.
